The Loch
The first Skull
Dive S into the Loch, swim to the E in a small channel and climb out on the left back. Take a running jump over to the other (S) side and pick up the Skull from the pedestal.
Back to the water and now swim W and climb out at a stone pier S. Follow through and dive into the small pool there. Swim to the end and end up in a cave.
Cave with the Lake, second Skull and the Shotgun.
Swim to the NW corner, get out and go NE and grab the Shotgun. Back to the water, now swim to the island and climb up E. Jump up to get the second Skull from inside. Go out and around the right, climb the block and get the small medipack.
The Fire Stone
Swim back (SE) and climb out of the small pool and return to the Loch. Standing on the pier you can see a torch burning NW, go there and climb out. Follow through and kill a dog. Place the two skulls W, this will open up the gate above. Climb up and follow through and save at the slide. Slide down, sprint to the right (or left) and around the corner again, after the next corner you are safe. Follow through, left or right, take a running jump to grab the ledge and pick up the Fire Stone from the pedestal. Jump into the open gate on your left, follow through till you are almost to the boulder room but take a right, then when you are back at the boulder room the gate slams shut so follow through (right) and at the end the gate opens and you are back at the place where you placed the skulls.
Go to the lake and jump in the water and swim SE and go down to the building in the back left to place the Fire Stone. Enter and go to the big hall.
Hall
Pull the switch on the wall to open the gate to the library in the E wall.
Library
Go immediately to the right and use the lever there. Go up the stairs now and take a right, at the end is another lever. Watch the dogs. Go down the staircase and take a right, at the end is another narrow staircase. In the small downstairs room you can pick up the Shotgun Ammo and flip the lever in the alcove E, a gate opens in the Hall.
A Torch
Notice the rope on the E wall before you go back up and back W to the Hall, the S side gate is open. E is a lever; watch the fly by, this only means some delightful journeying back through this amazing level.
Go back and out the N opening, jump in the small pool and swim through, climb out N, near the wall torch and go into the opening.
Follow through and a gate will open. Run as fast as you can over the pool SE as that is a sort of safe place to get the dogs.
Pick up the Shotgun ammo nearby, and go to the SE corner to find a block you can pull up on. Pull up even higher, jump to the other side and use the monkey swing to get to the tower in the middle. Pick up the Medipack and also a Torch. You can throw both of them down if you want, but keep an eye out where they fall.
Dropping Boulders
Safest way down is get the monkey swing and let yourself drop in the small pool below. Now get the Torch and shoot the barrier N, jump up onto the corner of the alcove and ignite the Torch carefully. Just standing in front of it does the trick. Use it on the ropes in the corners of this place so that the three boulders can drop. This action opens the gate E, do take the Torch with you!! Get in, take a running jump over the lava and follow through, jump up, leave the Torch so you can pick it up again and use the lever S. Watch the fly by. Pick up the Torch and jump all the way up, be careful of the boulders though. The exit is in the NW corner; a door opens so now you can ignite that dangling rope you saw before. The opposite gate opens; this is Secret #1, Explosive Arrows. You can leave the Torch now.
The Castle Key
Go back up the staircase S, head back to the Hall and into the gate S. Get the Castle Key from the pedestal and watch the fly by. This means back to the Loch and into that small channel (where you picked up the first Skull) and jump over the banks to insert the Key on the Castle door. Get in and when you are looking down at a courtyard better jump up to grab the fire block to the right and shimmy to get some Shotgun ammo. To the other side is a small medipack.
Now shimmy back to the middle and do a safety drop down onto the slanted block and slide down. Go into the opening left (NE) take 3 hops back and sprint down to jump out as a boulder is coming down onto a trapdoor. Drop down into the open trapdoor, go into the room and jump on both marked tiles near the hole with lava deep down below where you’ve just come from (so don’t go down there). The gate NW opens.
Timed Gates
Follow through and use the TIMED lever in here. The gate it opens is back and on the other side to the right (SE). Shoot the dog and use the Timed lever, this opens the gate opposite. The same story with this timed lever, this one also opens the door opposite on the left. Again a timed lever in here, this one opens the last gate in the S wall. The next gate opens when you approach.
The Castle
Lara arrives in some shallow water, swim to the other side and climb out, the door should open. Follow through and watch the fly by. Go around the corner and jump W, the area near the W wall has some dogs and a door that needs the Crowbar to open up.
Get a Medipack, Shotgun Ammo and Flares inside and leave.
The Skull, the first Fire Stone
For now descend the staircase N, behind the block with the receptacle (left one) is a lever. This fills the second pool and also the guide turns up again.
For now just follow the guide, and he walks to the huge pit E, take a running jump to the pillar there after he's done. Pick up the Skull and make your way down to the bottom and place the Skull next to the gate N. Enter and at the end take a running jump into the pool way down. Get out, shoot a dog and go NE, pick up the Fire Stone and get to the ladder on the N wall a bit back. Once on top jump first to the W pillar, there is a jump lever behind it. Jump back (E) and start jumping from pillar to pillar and when you are at the E wall, there is another jump lever behind the pillar, you'll see the gate opening up. Jump to the pillar S.
Now line up for the jump W and take a running jump to land on the safe corner next to the fire bowl, better drop and shimmy your way passing the fire bowl, so you won’t burn Lara. Get back to the tower and over into the gate on other side for Secret #2, Explosive Arrows. Then climb the tower and jump to grab one of the corner pillars (NE-NW).
Another Skull
Go back down the stairs W and jump in the water. Climb into the SE opening, jump into the pool there and swim through N and up.
At the lava pool N jump to one of the sides, grab the edge and shimmy to the end, back flip and use the jump lever on this small balcony. Jump back to the side and back flip/turn with a curve to get on solid ground again. The gate S is open, go inside and pick up another Skull. Back to the water and swim up, out of this room W to the next pool, swim across and head S up the stairs.
Lava Basements
Place the Skull N (NE) and the door right (E) opens. Look down into the opening and lower yourself on that block in the lava field. Now we are going for some fun jumping. Take a running jump and grab to the first block on the right, hoist up, slide/jump and again and grab the next block, which is safe.
Stand all the way to the left and take a running jump (no Ctrl) and keep sliding and jumping to the last block, jump up to catch the jump lever hidden in the plant on the wall. Climb on the raised block climb up into the same cave you might say. But it is not, go E and get a Medipack around the corner left, and leave S. Avoid the boulder on the ramp, and jump down into a big cave area.
Big Dark Cave, second Fire Stone
Shoot the barriers S and go in, careful as a pack of dogs are trying to eat Lara. Keep going down and jump the pit to get the second Fire Stone and watch the cut scene. So go back up again and in the cave go left (W) into the gate you just opened. Follow through and you end up at the start of this level. So get in the open gate, jump to the W and go down the stairs to place the Fire Stones. Enter and on the back of the last pillar is a jump switch, climb on the block that appears in the middle of the room and jump to one of the ledges on the side.
High Pillar Jumps, the third Dragon’s Head
Go N and take a running jump/grab to the first pillar, face W and climb down the ladder. Then jump S and use the jump lever, jump back and climb back up. Running jump and grab the slide, slide jump to the ledge where the spikes were. Now aim for that slanted pillar NW and keep jumping and try to slide backwards from the last slope and shimmy all the way left (or right). Take a back flip and you end up in a corner of the burning tile and no harm is done. There is even some water in this alcove in case you are ablaze.
Jump N and then to the ledge with the closed gate W. Go from there to the S and to the pillar with the box.
Push the box on both marked tiles (you can shimmy past the block) and the gate N opens, leave the ladder for now and go N. Use the jump lever in there and go back to the ledge with the push block and climb down the W side. Jump N and then to the next and a running jump to grab the ledge in front of the open door. Pick up the crowbar and then watch out because there is a boulder waiting to smash Lara, take two jumps backwards and sprint back around the corner. Follow through and at a junction go straight and around the corner get the Crossbow. The door you hear opening is just around the corner left (E wall). You can now go back to the beginning of the level, through the door that just opened below, and use the crowbar to open the door and get the goodies in Secret #3, large medipak, shotgun ammo, and flares. Now go back to where you got the crossbow, go through the door and end the level.
Castle Sanctuary.
Savegames
After the flyby take a right (or left) and lower yourself down
to the floor below. Head around the central room to the lever S to open a
gate above. Go S around the wall and hop onto a block there.
Take a running jump with an angle to the SW or NW ledge (no Ctrl) and go to
the S side to enter the open gate. Turn around at the pit and climb down the
ladder, take a running jump when you think the spikes will pop up and hang
on the edge. And when the spikes pop up again, hoist up and go right into
that passage. Or you can hang and drop and roll off the spikes, which is a
bit easier. You can even run off the top and land in the passage avoiding
the spikes.
The Big hall, the Revolver and the first Fire Stone.
Go all the way S and into the opening there, turn around and climb the ladder.
Spikes are popping up and a curved running jump/grab (along left or right)
over the dangerous tiles to the other side. Hop to the middle section and
then another hop to the left and use the floor lever there.
Jump on the block that appeared and take a running
jump to the pillar E. First go jumping to the last pillar S and behind that
last one is a jump lever behind the pillar (opens a gate below for later).
Turn around and jump back where you started the pillar jumping (N) and a running
jump to the next pillar. Now face W and take a running jump to that platform
and shoot the barriers there as well as the nasty small dino’s.
Stand on the marked tile (NW) facing E and take a running jump to that timed
platform that appeared and hoist yourself up onto the pillar. Take another
jump N and face the popping up spikes from the far side of this pillar. Take
another running jump when you think the spikes pop up and jump (or run) immediately
to the right. Get the Revolver.
Either hop left or right on a marked tile and take a running jump to the ledge
with the floor lever on it and flip it to open the gate to the Stone. Take
a safety drop to the ground floor, go first to the SE corner and enter that
opened gate for Secret # 4, a
Skull. Now you can leave this place (NE).
Again a curved running jump over the spikes when
they go down and grab the other ledge, climb up the ladder, turn around and
get the first of the Fire Stones from the room S.
Leave N and lower yourself down to the floor below and place the first Fire
Stone in its receptacle in the opening at the N side of the central room.
The High Hall, the second Fire Stone.
Find the block on the outside N ledge and jump back NW to that middle structure,
to go to the W and enter the newly opened gate. Shoot the baddie there and
find the opening W. Follow the baddie but before going inside, pick up a medipack
SE.
Once in the opening, stand facing NW and jump up to the base of the pillar.
Face the S and jump from pillar to the ledges with the lions, you get shot
if you're not careful, so watch and wait until the baddies far below climb
into a passage out of sight, then jump to the next (jump along the front side
of the lions) and then on the S side is an opening, go in there for Secret
# 5, another Skull.
Go back and jump out into the water way below (if you keep the revolver drawn,
you could shoot a baddie while still in the air). Get out of the water and
shoot another goon, go get the additional Revolver NW and the medipack
NE. Jump into the opening and use both the floor levers there, get out and
a block appeared on the S wall. There is another baddie trying to kill you
and this time you can try to take him out from standing on the raised block
(if not, just be quick). Then face S and use the jump lever, return to the
two floor levers N and find the now open trapdoor (above).
Climb up and go right (W) and pick up the Shotgun. Turn around and
go to the other end and face the crack NE. Do a banana run jump around the
corner and grab that crack, use it to shimmy to the right. More pillar hopping
and jump to the ledges with the lions, find the crack SW and shimmy right
again. Jump to the pillar N and use the jump lever behind it. The block on
the building N has come up, so take a running jump and climb on top.
Face N and hoist up, go into the passage and the door slams shut behind you.
There are many goons in here so be careful and also some marked tiles that
are spike traps. In the NE corner is a floor lever, pull it and you can also
look for two small medipacks that the goons left behind before you
climb onto the block that appeared N.
Climb up and use the detonator to blow up part of this room. Climb up on the
fallen wall and leave S. Go stand on the tile left and face the block (NW)
where the flames are out and take a running jump and keep running and jumping
to grab the ledge under the pillar W. Same story, pillar hopping again all
the way to the other side and jump to the crack in the N wall and shimmy left
to hoist in the opening there.
Turn W and into the opening of that building, through the passage and onto
a block W. Back again to ledges and pillar hopping. There is an opening in
the S wall, jump there and turn around and jump up at the ladder and climb
up. Jump N and then face E to jump to the building where you can see the next
stone waiting for you.
Get the second Fire Stone and leave through the opened gate N. Follow
through, safety drop at the end and leave E, go left and enter the lava room
and leave S and hop down to the floor below to put the second Fire Stone in
its receptacle.
Castle Grounds and the third Fire Stone.
Climb back up to find the E gate open. Watch the fly by. Go NE and shoot out
the barrier there and hop in to get the medipack and Revolver ammo.
Jump down and go SE through a small alley to another square.
The Torch.
Just past an indentation on the floor with a marked tile look up right and
jump on the block there. Up another one, turn around and jump up to the NW.
Once up there turn SW and up that block and from there go W. To the wall there
and hoist up on another ledge there, turn around and jump up and over to the
ledge with the lever to open another big door. Get down to the ground and
this door is at the E wall of this square.
Go inside and shoot the tiny dinos. In the SE of this small room is an opening,
go up the stairs and follow through and out on the balcony go to the right
for an extra Revolver and to the left for a Torch. Take the
Torch down to the square and go left through that passage to the next square
again. On the E wall and on the left is a ladder, leave the Torch there for
now.
The Gold Key.
Climb up all the way to the top and take a running jump/grab to the pillar
W. Take another running jump to the platform in the middle and then another
to the pillar with the Gold Key.
Go back to the ladder and then to the SE corner,
hop into the opening and use the Key.
Up the stairs, take a running jump (with Ctrl) so you don’t bump your head,
there is another opening a bit on the left. Take another running jump and
go to the wall ahead, turn around and look up, you need to hoist up there.
Then jump to the ledge with the lever and use it. After watching the camera
shot, make your way back to the ground floor. I jumped the ledges and took
the staircase down. The door that opened is W. Go get the Torch and head over
to that open door, but watch out, as there are some guards around.
Go into the room and ignite the Torch at the fireplace.
Drop the Balls.
Go outside with the Torch and keep the wall to your left and in the passage
to the other square, take the first left. Jump up left again and again more
jumps. Walk over the ledge there all the way to the end and light the rope.
Keep standing there and the spiked ball will drop down. Throw the Torch down
to the square where you can pick it up again. See the crack on the wall? Grab
it, shimmy round, hoist up and make your way to Secret
#6, another skull.
Safety drop to the ground floor. Pick up the
Torch and walk straight ahead to that tower E and ignite the rope that is
hanging there, stay put.
Go to the NE corner and to that other square and jump up left, you’ve been
here before. But this time ignite the rope. Run and Jump up SW around the
corner and walk to the W, throw the torch ahead on the ledge and then jump
the ledge. Pick up the Torch and stand facing W where that small crawlspace
is on the floor. Better save first because this can be tricky. What worked
for me, hit the #1 key and Lara drops the Torch. Use the crouch button, pick
up the torch and keep the crouch pushed down and throw the Torch through the
slit there so it will land a bit further on a ledge.
The third Fire Stone.
Make your way back to the square below and go W and find a ladder there. Climb
up, turn around jump to the Torch and pick it up. Jump back and up and face
N, take a running jump and save again at the end.
Stand at the right and hop and hop again, slide and jump and again slide and
jump. Face N and take a running jump to the lower corner of the slanted pillar,
then jump and jump three times to ignite the last rope on the ledge there.
Throw the Torch down and safety drop to the floor. The gate in the N is open
now. Get the third Fire Stone and leave this place W, the gate will
open when you approach it.
Secrets and the Skribblerz Stone.
Back in the main room, and drop down to place the last Fire Stone.
Go out and go to the W side, there is a ladder that goes down. Place the skulls
on the sticks in the N, S and E passages. Pick up Secret
# 7, the Secret Thistle on the pedestal in the middle.
Climb up the ladder W and up to that middle structure. Go to the top of the
structure to get the The Loch Thistle and get down to the bottom again,
the opened door is SW. Take a running jump and go to the fireplace to finish
this amazing adventure in Scotland.
